La (s)elezione dei giudici della Corte europea dei diritti dell’uomo tra teoria e prassi

A central challenge for the long-term effectiveness of the Convention system is to ensure that the judges enjoy the highest authority and the public trust both at the national and international levels. Therefore, the Council of Europe has implemented a series of reforms over the last two decades to improve the quality of the candidates and, at the same time, the transparency of the procedure. The paper aims to offer a comprehensive approach to the (s)election of the European Court of Human Rights judges, including the selections criteria.
